Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) have alleged the former Uttar Pradesh government under Akhilesh Yadav of corruption of 97000 crores. During his tenure, the government has failed to produce any documents which can explain the expenditure detail.

In the CAG report of August 2018, the government has not been able to submit the utilization certificate regarding the expenses. It creates doubt in the mind that why there are no such documents to show the details of government expenditure.

Uttar Pradesh Government is thinking of a probe into the matter and on the contrary Samajwadi Party has said that it is a politically motivated issue.

The report also indicates that in between 2014-17, during Akhilesh tenure in Uttar Pradesh, not a single utilization certificate has been submitted at all. Following this, it has been apprehended that there are chances of corruption and misappropriation of funds during the previous Government.
