New Delhi, November 5: Narendra Modi will spend the festival of Diwali in Kedarnath, according to an ANI update. Preparations are on at Kedarnath in full swing for the purposed visit PM Modi on November 7 at the famous Hindu temple. Heavy snowfall has carpeted the areas around the Kedarnath shrine, and the helipad has been closed since Saturday and the night temperature is down to - 5-degree Celcius.

Met department is hoping that the situation will get better soon. The local administration has deployed labourers to clear the snow off the road. Last year, Modi had twice visited the shrine situated at 11,755 feet above the sea level – on the opening of the temple doors and the day before closing.

PM Modi is likely to arrive at the Jolly Grant airport on the morning of November 6, and will go by a chopper to Kedarnath. The intention of his travel this year is to offer prayers at the Himalayan shrine, and review Kedarpuri reconstruction projects.
