PM Modi lays foundation stones for several projects in Lucknow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stones for various projects worth 60,000 crore rupees in Lucknow, on the eve of third anniversary of three key government initiatives related to Urban Development - Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, PMAY (Urban), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation of Urban Transfornation, AMRUT and the Smart Cities Mission.
In his address Prime Minister said that there is a close relation between the mission of  Transforming the landscape of urban India and the Lucknow city.He said Lucknow has been the Karmabhoomi of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who gave a new direction to the urban life of the country.
PM said that smart cities are a mission for the government to transform the nation.
PM reiterated Government's commitment to provide house to every one by 2022 and said that  the government approved 54 lakh houses in  cities and provided 1 crore houses in villages.
PM said that he is the sharer of pangs and griefs of the poor and the down trodden sections of society  and that's why his government is taking steps for the upliftment of that class.
PM Modi said, while interacting with the beneficieries of Pradhan Mantri  Awas Yojana he saw the glimpses of self confidence of owning a house on their faces.
It was a wonderful experience and an inspiration for him.
Earlier,Prime Minister Narendra Modi  interacted with 35 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) one from each state and Union Territory at Lucknow.
