Shah skirts seer row, says BJP can't play active role

HYDERABAD: The ongoing issue of exernment of Swami Paripoornanda from the city came up for discussion during the meeting held by BJP national president Amit Shah with various organizations associated with the BJP, including Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). The party leaders briefed Shah about the controversy that led to the exernment of the religious leader and asked the BJP chief to take lead role in the agitation on the issue. However, Shah said as a political party, it cannot take up active role in religious issues at this juncture and can only support the programmes taken up by the religious leaders. Party leaders complained that the TRS government had been acting against the majority Hindu sentiments and even moving very closely with AIMIM. "The party has been adopting Muslim appeasing programmes including 12% reservation," the party leaders informed Amit Shah
